Paola Martinez, daughter of Claudia and Ramiro Martinez (see Mexico/Latin America), knew since age 15 that God was calling her to devote her life to the efforts of reaching ethnic groups with the least access to the gospel. Now, as a World Renewal Missionary, that looks like working with a church-planting team in Barcelona, Spain, focused on discipleship and leadership development in an area where peoples from the various countries around the Mediterranean come together. Geographically, politically and culturally speaking, this area is strategic to accelerating the advancement of the gospel through training leaders of all nations to the nations.
Paola and her church-planting team are currently serving two home-based church plant groups, representing over a dozen different countries, where each member is being discipled and raised to become a leader. Day-to-day life and ministry in Barcelona looks like weekly sharing the gospel in the streets; weekly meeting up for discipleship in homes or in third spaces like coffee shops, park benches, and the beach; and lots of sharing in the mundane tasks as a community - from working out and dining together to taking out the trash and getting appliances repaired.
