We at World Renewal desire to serve you! In the fall of 2020 we started the World Renewal Center for Bible and Ministry Studies (CBMS for short). Pastor Jim Lawler (the Director of CBMS) and Gary Wright began teaching at Brandywine Community Church, Greenfield, IN, with Old Testament Survey. We've now completed the Old and New Testament Survey classes, and are pleased to offer the New Testament Survey classes online, to take at anytime!
We are offering a certificate called the World Renewal Ministry Degree, and courses completed may earn college credit through the Evangelical Training Association. Final Exams require the student to write a lesson or sermon using the Scripture or ministry studied. We want our students to learn the Bible and how to apply it. Tuition is $25 and includes the textbook for class. Additional donations to CBMS are appreciated to cover costs. Scholarships are available for those who are in need. Take New Testament Survey Part One online!
Part One of the New Testament Survey class gives students an overview of the world as it was in the New Testament, to help learners understand the context New Testament writers expected the audience to understand. It then covers The Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as Acts. There are 11 class recordings, each approximately one hour long. Some classes include handouts. Pastor Jim Lawler is the core teacher of the class, joined frequently by Dr. Gary Wright, who opens many of the classes with a short story lesson to make the characters in the Bible more relatable. |
Take New Testament Survey Part Two online!
Part Two of the New Testament Survey class covers the writings of Paul, called The Pauline Epistles. Students learn who Paul was, how he was converted from a vicious exterminator of Christians into the Disciple to the Gentiles, and about the different styles of arguments for Christ Paul used to tune his message to the different audiences he wrote to. There are 12 classes, each approximately one hour, including some classes with handouts. Because there is so much more content to cover in this class than in class 1, Dr. Wright limited his appearances. |
