UNITED STATES
The Founding Vision

Founded by Gary and Carol Wright in 1986, World Renewal grew as Gary preached, the Renewal band sang, and the Wright family traveled and did evangelistic meetings wherever they could. Since then, it has partnered with and expanded all over the world (see our history HERE). There is still a strong ministry presence in the USA, mostly focused around Greenfield, Indiana. We are grateful to all of our stateside partners!
Join in World Renewal's in-depth teaching with the Center for Bible and Ministry Studies, enjoy Gary's books and podcast, request a speaker to better connect with World Renewal's ministries and kids resources, join us for the weekly prayer meeting (on zoom or in person), and read some of the amazing stories of what God has done!
If you are ready to take the next steps and go on a mission trip, become an advocate for a WR partner, volunteer, or become a missionary, please let us know!
Dennis and Sue Anthony serve with Friends of Recovery Northeast Ohio (FORNEO) and have partnered with World Renewal for many years. They disciple and develop leaders through daily accountability, respect, responsibility, and relationship-building. FORNEO provides a Christ-centered residential alternative for individuals seeking freedom from addiction. Their homes include Tikvah (men), Arukah (women), Shalom (women with children), and a new men’s home currently in development (Hesed). They also operate the Warehouse of H.O.P.E., a quality thrift store supporting the ministry financially. Please pray for additional staff and volunteers to help carry the growing ministry load as the Anthonys celebrate 10 years of full-time ministry.
The World Renewal missionary known as “The Dog Walker” has spent her life following God wherever He leads. With a heart for missions from a young age, she has served in challenging and closed contexts, using creativity and courage to share God’s love. Along the way, she has cared for children, supported local workers, and built unexpected relationships through her work as a certified dog trainer. Today, she continues her ministry among diverse communities, where her dogs help open doors to friendship, conversation, and faith. Her story reflects how God can use unique gifts and ordinary skills in extraordinary ways when they are placed in His hands.
The Helfers. For those living in Indiana, we hope you’ve had the opportunity to become familiar with Hope Center Indy and World Renewal partners Paul and Joyce Helfers. The Helfers are dedicated advocates in the fight against sex trafficking through their work with Hope Center Indy. Paul serves on the facilities team, contributing to campus maintenance, remodeling, and ongoing improvement projects, as well as an expansion of the manufacturing department. Together, they faithfully support and embody the vision of Hope Center Indy: to offer hope and healing to every heart.
Jennifer McQueen. World Renewal sponsors children in seven countries, and our Children’s Advocate, Jennifer McQueen, works to share the needs of these children while also serving and connecting with children in the United States. Jennifer asks for prayer for children around the world who face hunger, poverty, suffering, violence, abuse, and trauma. Pray that they experience God’s love in the midst of hardship and that their faith is strengthened. To learn how you can better advocate for children locally and globally, you can reach Jennifer at Jmcqueen@worldrenewal.org.
Juan and Gabriella Padilla share a passion for missions, community, and living on mission wherever God leads. Juan was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, where he began interpreting for American mission teams at a young age. This sparked a passion for missions and led him to help lead trips throughout Latin America, particularly in southern Brazil. Juan and Gabriella now live in Indianapolis and serve at Brookville Road Community Church, where they have been building community for the past two years. Gabriella, who was raised in the Midwest, has served in missions across the United States and internationally in South America and Europe. With a background in nonprofit administration and community building, she is excited to follow God’s calling on their lives. As World Renewal partners, Juan and Gabriella will encourage missionaries on the field and help share their stories with supporters in the United States. Juan will also shadow Steve Turner on mission trips, gaining experience as he grows in his calling to missions.
Gary and Carol Wright, founders of World Renewal in 1986, continue to minister and share Jesus wherever they go. They enjoy speaking and teaching opportunities as well as time with their grandchildren. Gary writes: “Carol and I are grateful for your support these four decades. Carol still meets with lady leaders and teaches for Barclay College. Most of all, she gives our family and myself the support needed. I have had a time of wonderful preaching, teaching, and writing, working on my fifth book. World Renewal continues to grow. We are seeing people come to Christ every day. We are developing new leaders every day. Wonderful young leaders—who were once in our children’s ministries—are now filling our adult ministry positions.”
Brent and Stacy Henderson lead a ministry called Unleashed Men. World Renewal is honored to partner with them as they help men rediscover their identity in Christ, equip them to walk with God, and mobilize transformed men to disciple others. Over the past decade, they have seen more than 17,000 men come to Christ. With two published books and a rapidly growing podcast, Brent also speaks at adventure retreats, conferences, churches, and offers one-on-one coaching. Resources are available at their website, Unleashed.men. Please keep the Hendersons in prayer as they travel and minister.

Raney and Carrie Jones are passionate about seeing lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. After years of addiction, incarceration, and a life far from God, Raney encountered Jesus while serving a 16-year prison sentence. His life was radically changed, leading him to immerse himself in God’s Word and embrace a calling to evangelize and preach to the lost, broken, addicted, and incarcerated. Carrie came to faith as a young child and later experienced a season of profound brokenness, including sex trafficking and exploitation. After nearly a decade away from her faith, she cried out to Jesus and experienced His miraculous deliverance. Today, she is passionate about reaching those who are hurting and creating spaces where people can encounter hope, healing, freedom, and restoration through Christ. Together, Raney and Carrie serve with a heart for evangelism, prayer, recovery, prison ministry, outreach, and church ministry. They desire to go wherever God leads, sharing the Gospel and bringing His love to people who are hurting and in need of hope.
