Investing in Asia
Cross-cultural workers Samir and Mayra, along with their two children, serve among people groups with limited access to key resources that support personal and community flourishing. Their work centers on nurturing communities of individuals and families that meet in each other’s homes. These homes become places where people can experience transformational relationships as they discuss and apply practical teaching and good examples, grow in character, and receive support through the challenges of daily life. Through this work, Samir and Mayra envision flourishing communities where hope takes root, relationships are restored, and ordinary people gain the courage and capacity to cultivate lasting positive change around them. They long to see small seeds of transformation grow into blossoming gardens of peace, hope, and lasting impact for future generations.
A significant part of their work involves identifying, mentoring, and equipping emerging leaders. They provide coaching and practical training in hospitality, group facilitation, conflict resolution, caring for others, sustainable rhythms of service, and healthy leadership practices. Their desire is to see local leaders become deeply rooted and capable of helping others grow in turn. They are encouraged by seeing small beginnings grow into networks of healthy relationships and communities that carry light, peace, and good fruit wherever they are planted.
